Contraindications:
• Ischemia (e.g. advanced arterial disease)
• Uncontrolled congestive heart failure
• Untreated septic phlebitis
• Phlegmasia coerulea dolens

Cautions:
• Skin infections
• Weeping dermatoses
• Incompatibility to fabric of garment
• Impaired sensitivity of the limb
• Immobility (confinement to bed)

Other recommendations:
• Incorrectly measured and badly fitting compression garments may cause problems during wearing.
• Open wounds must be covered with an appropriate dressing before the compression garment is put on.
